The Pittsburgh Steelers from 1970's to Today:

Prior to the 1970's, the Pittsburgh Steelers were a perennial average to below average NFL franchise. Their fortunes would begin to change in 1969 when they hired former offensive lineman Chuck Noll as Head Coach. Noll would coach them for 23 years amassing a 209-156-1 total record. The Steelers won Super Bowls in 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bill Cowher took over as Head Coach in 1992 and coached them for 15 years until 2006. His total record was 161-99-1 and won the Super Bowl in 2005. Like Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Mike Tomlin became Head Coach in 2007 and is still there. His current overall record is 171-102-2 and the Steelers won their 6th Super Bowl in 2008.
