This matted and framed vintage sports wall hanging shows an aerial view of Navin Field as it was in the 1920s. This former American ballpark would later be renamed Briggs Stadium and then Tiger Stadium. It was the home of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.
This image shows many unique imperfections due to the limitations of photography during that time. It's those imperfections that makes this a great vintage image. It would make a nice addition to a sports bar, a room in your home, or at the office displayed by itself or grouped with other pictures.
Vintage sports wall hangings are also great to give as a gift.

About Navin Field
Navin Field was designed by the father and son team of Frank C. Osborn and Kenneth H. Osborn. Frank Osborn founded Osborn Engineering in Cleveland in 1892. The company pioneered in the use of reinforced concrete and built municipal and industrial facilities throughout the country. The firm designed more than 100 sports stadiums, including Fenway Park in Boston and Yankee Stadium in New York.
Navin Field opened as a 23,000-seat stadium on April 20, 1912, the same day as Fenway Park in Boston. The yard was expanded several times, and on Oct. 21, 1935, its name was changed from Navin Field to Briggs Stadium -- the same year it was expanded to a capacity of 53,000.
