The Pittsburgh Steelers of the 1970's
Prior to the 1970's, the Pittsburgh Steelers were a perennial average to below average NFL franchise. Their fortunes would begin to change in 1969 when they hired former offensive lineman Chuck Noll as Head Coach. Noll would coach them for 23 years amassing a 209-156-1 total record. The Steelers won Super Bowls in 1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
